Las Vegas Build - It's like butter

Filling with the hydrant is a great plan. If going that route and not doing an acid wash, I would wait until very late in the day or even the following morning to fill the pool. 4-6 hours minimum after the final troweling.

With the given hydrant flow rates, you pool should get filled in less than an hour.

The water out of the hydrant in front of my house always came out really rusty and crappy for a bit before it cleared up - should he be worried about that in a new fill?

If it's 14k gallons, and your water pressure is ok, you can likely fill it pretty easily by running the front/back hoses at the same time (mine at about 12k gallons filled in about 12 hours, with my turning off the hoses and letting the autofill finish up after 9hrs.

Perfect! I read about the 4-6 hour wait after plaster, glad you confirmed it. And the best part is no guessing on the number of gallons in the pool..lol

Good call on the rusty part... I'll ask or be sure they clear the line.... It's less than $300, and if it fills in an hour or so, rather than 12.. its worth it to me.

Well worth it and slightly more legal than some midnight ops....:suspect:

You just the tell cops when they roll up that the hydrant was opened up so that the kids in the neighborhood could cool off...it's all about "the children!"

Just don't be the one holding hydrant wrench when they do roll up....

Don't ask me how I know this :slidehalo:

Tile, stacked stone and waterfalls all set... Stone for coping and rest of backyard coming on Tuesday... I also have a 6ft mosaic, that will be set after pool is cleaned up just prior to plaster.. Backfilled and cleaned up yard... paver guys will finish fill and level of yard...

End of next week is looking rosy!

The Stone has arrived at my house! It's really beautiful and unique!! The coral patterns are amazing.. the photos really do not do it justice... The version I got is a little more rustic than I expected, because there are some really smooth elegant versions, but it is going to be awesome...
