I need some help please.

My deep end ladder is starting to rub the liner and it’s wearing off the pattern. I know I need to address this before it gets worse.

The holes in the deck are at least 4” deep. In the center, there’s what feels like a bolt head sticking up. There’s also what looks to be about 3/8” of threaded bolt end in the keyway. Sorry for the photo quality. There’s quite a bit of sand in both holes and some obvious voids under the deck that I can feel. I could shop vac sand out of the holes and get a better idea of what’s in there but I’m also concerned that I’ll end up sucking a lot of sand from under the decking.

Hard to tell but it appears that the fittings that hold the ladder have completely worn away. Mine ladder anchors have a bottom that doesn’t extend under the deck. They look similar to yours.

Thank you! It does look similar and I suspect that whatever was supposed to be there just isn't much there now.

The ladder stays on the deck unless kids come over to swim so it's not an urgent thing to fix but it needs to be done. I have no way to secure it currently and it rubs badly whenever I have to drop it in. There's a return just to the right of the expansion joint so the ladder interferes with the water flow. With the ladder in, the water hits the step unless I point the eyeball to let water go between the second and third step.

The rubbing damage to the liner is bad enough but this just isn't a safe setup so I need to either get it secured or do something else. Ideas welcome.

Can remove the anchors and replace with new ones. I wouldn’t risk the liner for it. Our pool as kids didn’t have a ladder. We just pulled ourselves up onto the deck.

No, I'm not risking the liner for it either. When I noticed the white marks on the liner I knew what was happening and the ladder stays out now. I'm not sure there's even any anchors in the holes now, what size I'd need to get or how to put them in.

I'd just do away with the ladder but I'll be required to put one back in when I sell this house so may as well fix it somehow.
