Are you redirecting the return eyeball to see if that helps? If you're using a skimmer plate, sometimes rotating it in the skimmer slightly makes the KK go a different route.
Depending upon which kreepy krauly you have, some have a small slide adjustment on the bottom corresponding with different numbers. It changes the pattern from bigger circles to smaller ones. I have the shark and it does best on the smaller tighter circles. Also keeps it from getting caught up on the foam cove.

Actually running the shark right now. He's smiling back at you from about 20 feet out and 4 feet deep...gotta love that Trouble Free Pool crystal clear water! [emoji3]

I have it in skimmer and the adjustment is done in a connection so I will have to play with a little more.
how long do you leave it in for when cleaning?
