I have a 6800 gallon in ground, indoor, 4' deep pool that has worked pretty much with not a problem since 1996. Other than replacing a Jandy old school heater with a Pentair mastertemp 125 low nox Lp heater. The last few months, the pressure in the cartridge filter housing has increased from 10psi to 25psi. A high pitched squealing sound also has developed. I took off the manifold and discovered that the internal bypass valve has a broken stem.
While I'm waiting for the part to show up, I decided to install a manual bypass valve in the 2" plumbing.
The pump and motor operate noise free as I've bypassed the heater.
But when the pool is finished circulating, a loud, vibration and noise comes out of the check valve that I just installed.
I'll include a couple of pictures to show the plumbing and equipment.
Thanks for any help in advance.
