Is this a good buy?

Walmart has a Taylor K-2005 for $20, is this a good buy? I know the only diff b/w 2005 & 2006 is FAS-DPD chlorine test, while the K-2005 has the DPD chlorine test. I've already have K-2006 but low in test refils so instead of buying a few refills which comes out almost the same buying this kit. TIA.

If it's just the standard K-2005, it has the smallest reagent bottle sizes at 3/4oz
The K-2005C has the larger sized reagent bottles.

If it's from Walmart's online site, it may be from a third party.
Any idea what the dates are on the reagent bottles? Reagents have a finite life.

You'd be better served ordering a refill kit for your K-2006 IMHO
Use someone reputable like TFTestkits (they have a refill sale in March every year - I received several emails about it).

The TFTestkits refill for K-2006 is a good deal as noted. There's a sale, in March (for reference next year).

A thing to be wary of with bargains is they kit's age at receipt. Though you can stretch it a bit, nominal shelf life is a year. If you get one that's been lying around for a few months - which might be the case with one on sale - it's not a bargain. TFTestkits guarantees freshness.

If it’s expired I guess you can return it - if you wanna go through the hassle. Its not returnable to Walmart like some third party items are which is generally my preference as they don’t really ask many questions.
In the swim is a reputable place at least. But you may get stuck with return shipping.
That kit $106 on their site.
I have to imagine its old stock for $20

It’s likely old stock and junk being resold by Walmart from in the swim. They’re selling right now for $107 direct from in the swim. Why the discount?
