Is there a huge difference between an above ground and inground pump of the same HP rating. For instance would this pump work in my 10K gallon in ground pool? I have a 3/4 HP pump currently.
The biggest difference is that some AG pumps are not self-priming like the one you chose. So it would not work well unless the pump is below water level.
However, there are some AG pumps, like the Pentair Dynamo, that are self-priming but there are not many others.
There is also a significant difference between the flow rates of an AG vs IG pump even for the same HP label.
