In the middle of a SLAM but need salt

Our pool was opened last week (in MA). Opened to bright green. Started the SLAM yesterday and dropped our robot in today to brake up Algae on the floor. The water is not as green as it was when it opened but there’s a milkyness do it as you can’t see to the bottom.

Our current salt level is at 2000…ideally looking to get it to 3300. I shut the SWG off while performing the SLAM. Should I wait til the SLAM is over to add salt?

What type of filter do you have? If you backwash the filter, I would wait on the salt.

Hello. Sand Filter, 1.5hp pump.

Then wait until the SLAM is over so you do not backwash water you just added salt to.
