Ideal CYA levels in Pool Math app

Hi all,

I am now using the dichlor/liquid chlorine method. Having read How Do I Use Chlorine In My Spa, I was shooting for a CYA level of 30 ppm. But I am now realizing that the Math Pool app is telling me that my target CYA level is below the ideal levels of 40 to 50 ppm.

Why the discrepancy?

Should I instead shoot for 40 ppm?

App is focused towards pool care. You need to adjust the targets for your spa.

30-40 is fine- ignore the warning.
Poolmath is designed & geared towards pools not spas

In advanced settings

Staying within “recommended ranges” is plenty fine
