How to whiten up fiberglass steps?

What's a good product I can use to clean the steps? They're not bad, but I can see a tad of discoloration below the waterline and on the tread.
Magic Eraser does ok, but looking for a product that I can use underwater and brush on.
I saw notes about Jacks, and another called Stain Free.
Is that what I need or is there something better?

First you should determine what is causing the stain. Any chance it's iron? You on a well? Try rubbing a Vitamin C tablet on a step to see.

I'll give that a try and see what happens. Not on well water, but there was some rust on a stainless steel band in my DE filter. I cleaned it this spring at startup and coated it with clear silicone grease to isolate it.

How does this product get applied? I see a liquid and a powder but haven't found actual directions.
My discoloration is very light and is only noticeable if the water level goes high and then I can see a slight difference in color on the fiberglass.

That rust on the tank band is perfectly normal on those filters.

I rubbed a C tablet on a step to see and it didn't do anything. I think I may try the Jacks solution. The more I look at the steps the less dirty it looks, lol.
