How to clean / maintain a diving board

Hello!

How do you clean a diving board? Mine is white but the top has black stains on it, kind of like a dirty bath tub. And bird poop of course... How do you wash it, and especially without getting it in the pool?

Also, is there some kind of yearly maintenance or checks I should be doing to ensure it's safety? Other than me being the first dare devil to jump off it every year to make sure it works? =)

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser! You might need quite a few but I bet they will work!

I would look lay under the board when the sun is right over it and look up to see if you can see any weak/thin areas If it is high enough you could have someone sit on the end and bounce while you are under it to see if you can see any wear areas.

I'd also do a yearly check of where it's bolted on to make sure stuff hasn't rusted out. It shouldn't, but I've heard two separate stories where they found out the hard way!
