I added borates today and next on the agenda is adding calcium. I'm trying to get an answer on how long I should wait to test after adding each. I seem to remember the pool store years ago saying to wait a week after adding borates to test (Boric Acid from Duda). I asked this last year but didn't get any answers to my specific question just what people wanted me to know. Lol. So to nip this in the bud, yes I live in Texas, but no my fill water is not hard. I live in a MUD (Municipal Utility District) that softens the water. Our water is only 60 ppm of calcium. I have to add additional calcium every spring to prevent white streaks on our stone.
