How fast should I run my pump?

How does one figure out how fast to run their pump in the following situations? FWIW, I have a Pentair Intelliflo VSF.

1. Heating the pool through pool solar (I have Heliocor hill-mounted solar). What’s optimal?
2. Just running my pool sweep for cleaning. Again, what’s optimal and how long?

1. 0.1 GPM/sq-ft of solar panel
2. As low as you can go so the pool sweep still works. What kind of cleaner is it? Pressure side, suction side, pressure side with a booster....
