I would totally do a solar cover on my pool if I could. In fact I had a bubble cover and got rid of it after half a season. With in-ground, irregular shaped pools that have water features and spa spillways, using solar covers is a royal pain. There's no easy way to fold and remove them, they get covered in debris that is hard to remove and the water features partially sink them.
Believe me, when/if I ever design and build a new pool, it's going to be rectangular shaped with an auto-cover. Or, if it's too much money, then I'll still do a rectangular shape but get a good cover and reel for it.
I get a cover from my PB, but I doubt its a real good one. I guess I will just leave mine uncovered next year. I do plan on getting a mesh cover for this winter because I don't want to mess with a pump.
