Hello,

Anybody had connected a Hi-Temp Union 2" to a heater (MasterTemp Pentair)?

I tried connected the CMP union (link here) as suggested on other thread but it was not fit, as show the picture.

The original ones (from Pentair) has a lower diameter and can go inside. Also, these has the O-ring inside.

I saw others unions on Amazon, but most of them look similar, meaning it would not fit.

Appreciated any reference that working for you or if you perform any modification to these unions in order to fit.

Thanks!

Those CMP unions are for pumps, not a MasterTemp heater.

Use the Pentair parts.

Hi @ajw22,
Thanks for your feedback.
I remember read a post where @JamesW suggested such unions for the heater (I cannot find it). After your direct suggestion, I found another (here) but is not clear to me the conclusion.
Please, may you clarify if the issue is just the exterior part that hits the cap, or there is another difference (i.e. thread).
Appreciated!

Pentair unions have a proprietary thread. The same union thread is used for the heaters and SWG.
