I know just enough about stains to make myself dangerous. While it's true the FC needs to be low during an AA treatment, you do need to take precautions about algae or you'll be right back in the same position. You might want to look at Polyquat 60 which is one brand recommended here quite often - primarily for winterization, but it may fit your needs as well before treating for stains. But do a little searching here first or another expert will chime-in to confirm. If you don't get good info, send me a PM to remind me.
