Help me help my brother in law please

In North Texas freeze and his pump pressure is way down. Reading 3 when it's normally 15. His push pull valve has a leak and is frozen. See pics. Pump appears to be running normally. He's wondering if he should shut it all down. Thoughts please?

That’s a lot of ice. I would shut it down and protect the rest of the equipment.

If there is normal water movement in the skimmer and a hand pressure check-in front of a return is good I'd let it run. Cheap 10 dollar gauges lie!

I dont care about the gauge either, but i'm concerned about the crack/leak if it gets worse as it remains cold, or as it thaws.

He won't starve the pump being a slide valve issue down stream, but it could become old faithful right next to the house.
