Hayward Vac Ultra Turbine Question

I've had my Ultra for many years. Recently there have been times when it doesn't want to move. When I reel it in, I can see that the turbine isn't spinning. If I stick my finger in the suction hole and barely touch the turbine, it starts spinning and it works again (flaps are flapping and it moves around). Then after awhile, it stops moving again. From what I can tell, there is the usual amount of suction and there's nothing stuck in the turbine.

Are part(s) worn out? The bearings? Turbine itself?

Thanks!

Probably the bearing have developed some corrosion and friction. Water power does not have much torque to overcome any friction.

Hayward has a rebuild kit ….
