Ive gone down a rabbit hole since finding this forum so I want to learn more about my system.

I have a Hayward Super Pump 700 1.1HP single speed pump Model SP2670007X10. I'm reading this could be costing way more to operate than a variable speed pump.

Can someone help me calculate cost of running this 10/hrs a day for the SWG vs a v speed pump.

I am in FL and we use FPL not sure what the kWh rate is currently.

For simplicity think of VSP as 1/10th - about 2.25kWh per hour for a single speed versus ~225 watts for a VSP at low RPMs.
If $.15 per kWh electrical rate - $.33 per hour versus $.03 per hour.

On the top of the pump motor there is the "rating plate." It will have a number for maximum amps. Take that number and multiply it by your incoming voltage and that is the roughly amount of watts being used. It takes a good watt meter to get an actual reading.
Usually a 1hp motor will consume .75 KW per hour and cost you $.12 per hour.

The pump will use about 1,000 watts.

At 10 cents per KWH, that is 10 cents per hour or about $1.00 for 10 hours, which is $30.00 per month.

A variable speed pump will use about 200 watts, which is about 2 cents per hour or about 20 cents for ten hours, which is about $6.00 per month.
