I just had a Hayward OmnPL Retrofit Kit installed and after getting some initial configuration problems resolved by the technicians I am still not sure my SWG is operating correctly. My pump is scheduled to run 8AM to 8PM daily. I have my chlorine set point at 5%. When the pump turns on the chlorinator runs continuously for three and a half hours by checking the diagnostic screen then shuts off and after that will turn on again for a few minutes every hour then shut off. My chlorine reading is high after the initial run when the pump turns on then slowly returns to normal after 3-4 hours. 5% of 12 hours should be a total of 36 minutes runtime. Should the SWG run the long when the pump first turns?
