Hello,

I have an above ground pool with a Hayward H400FDN natural gas heater. The heater is ~6 years old. Upon opening the pool this year I noticed that the heater was not warming the water as it was years previous.

Previously, when the heater was running the jet output in the pool was quite hot, now the output is barely warmer than the pool. The heater is running, I can hear the gas running and the flame coming on / staying on. The water is definitely getting heated a bit but no like it use to. After calling Hayward, they said it was a defective temperature sensor which I replaced but this made no difference. I do have a solar pool cover as well.

To clarify I am not talking about the time it is taking to heat the entire pool, just the output of the heater not being hot as it use to be.

Thank you for any help. Attached is a picture of the setup.
