Hayward H250 Heater Whistles

When my natural gas pool heater fires up it starts whistling. The whistle appears to start as soon as the gas valve opens, before the burners light and doesn't stop until the gas valve shuts off. The unit has been installed for over ten years without the whistle and all the burners have nice blue flames so I really don't think it's low a gas pressure issue. I already have removed the burner assy and blew out all the passages after removing the gas valve.

I haven't run across this on the Hayward but I would suspect the gas valve is causing the noise. Cleaning the orifices and the burners was a good idea.

I would also want to check the gas pressure if you can. If you have a regulator by the heater it could also be a cause.
