Does anyone know if the pvc fitting of the aquarite flow switch is a standard 2 inch PVC T that can be picked up at Home Depot or Lowes? Are the threads different? I don’t really want to spend $30 for a Hayward branded one when big box stores seem to have the same thing for $3.

It's basically the same thing.
The hardware store one sometimes have a hole that is too small and you have to drill it out a little bit bigger.
The threads are the same, but some Ts have a lip inside that is too small for the flow switch.
You would need a drill bit to drill the lip part out without damaging the threads.

Be sure it is a 2"x3/4fipx2." A standard 2" T with a 3/4"fip reducing bushing in the port won't work. Generally not available at Home Depot, but some Lowes carry them.
