“Growths” on plaster

I am getting these weird “growths” in different places in the pool ~ on the walls, the bottom, tanning ledge. They’re white & soft when brand new ~ as in you can remove them just by scratching with your finger nail. Once they’re established, you can scrape off with a stiff plastic food scraper (like the little brown ones that come with Pampered Chef). Anybody have an idea what this is? How to make them go away for good? When dirt settles around them it stains. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Never had this issue before. Replastered in April of ‘21, but this didn’t start until April ‘22.
