Green pool, SWG broken - advise on how to maintain pool until SWG is fixed.

1 gallon will be fine
30 min from now you can add MA then about an hour after that, test for FC, CC and PH
Make sure your pump is running

Forgot to answer this part

SHocking or Slamming (as we call it) is basically hammering the algae with a lot of chlorine. Shocking consists of premixed bags of shock from the pool store but it adds a bunch of stuff you dont need and levels can get out of whack in a hurry. Slamming is doing the same thing but with chlorine only. Well get to that after your PH is under control with MA additions. We are starting with a little for now to try to get a balance and a solid test

These are my test results. Im not very comfortable doing the testing yet so hope its correct.

FC = 5.6
CC = 0
PH = 7.6
CYA = 30

FC seems high but I needed 28 drops to turn the pink solution into a clear colour.
