Thanks again for the help thus far. I'll be attacking the water tomorrow hopefully unless I need to drain again! I'll report back with new findings.
Looks like I got it down to about 90, should I dump again or can I work with this?

You need to lower that further while you are at it. Now's the time to get it right.
A 90 CYA is very difficult to manage. You will spend more in chlorine to manage it than it would cost in water to fix, unless you have source water issues (cost, clarity, metals)
I've noticed a common theme with reading the CYA test, it's kind of a PITA. Am I looking for the dot to completely disappear from sight?

CYA test = pain in the neck! Wish it wasn't so darn important but it is!

Anybody done this before with a CYA around 150? Is two cycles of fresh water enough? I'll take best guesses too...

Just keep in mind if you are at 150 now, 50% the first time brings you to 75, then another 50% after refill takes you to 37.5.
Keep draining/filling til you hit that <50 CYA mark (assuming you don't have a SWCG), ideally not going too low so you don't have to spend any money on more CYA.
So if my math is right, I should end up roughly at 54 if I drain the same amount, ****

If you're at 54, I'd say you can go ahead and start SLAMing. (Experts feel free to disagree!)
You'll end up backwashing your filter a fair amount and maybe having to top off a bit during/after SLAM and eventually you'll settle in right around 50. From your diligence so far, you've likely read through the SLAM Procedure by now, but read it again. It's fun!
If you can get the CYA below 70ppm, then the SLAM will be easier. Lower would be better, but not required.
