Be careful with CL heaters. Lots of them have leaky heat exchangers and big big problems. If you are going the smaller gas route, I'd just get a new one if you can swing it.

Considering a 1/3 hp pump would be more than sufficient for this pool (They are out there). It's easier to find a 1/2 hp though. We use 1/2hp on pools 2X the size of this one with no side effects to speak of.

If you get good service on one over the other in your area, go with that one. Lots of Hayward stuff on the east coast. If the builder or service guy is a warrenty station for a certain brand, you most likely will get good service.
Take what these industry guys say with a grain of salt sometimes when it comes to equipment. Its a ford/chevy type thing. They all have their favorite brands and what they install...well thats what they recommend. You really cant go wrong with any of the major brands.
