Flex Sealing Hayward LED Lights

I have a pair of Hayward LPCUN11100 Universal ColorLogic Networked Color Pool LEDs that have taken on water after about 4 years of little to no use (< 50 hours).

I’m going to replace them, but given these seem prone to failure due to leakage and the price of these lights is absurd, I’m wondering if anyone has tried applying Flex Seal (or something else) on the back and sides of them to try and give it a better waterproof seal.

Any thought/experience appreciated.

Welcome to TFP.

I don’t believe Flexseal is waterproof long term. You can give it a try.

People have tried silicone along all the seams on pool lights. You rarely hear about the success, only the failures.

Pool lights crack from heat and thermal cycles and then leak.

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback.

Curious…if heat cycles are driving premature failure, anyone find success in extending life by just leaving them on permanently?
