Hello,
I opened my pool on Tuesday this week. The pressure on the filter was 14 and on Wednesday evening it went up to 20, so I backwashed it and rinsed it. It went back down to 14. Now 2 days later it is back up to 20 again. I am a new pool owner and this is my first opening I have gone through. Is this normal with opening a pool or is there another potential issue I need to be aware of? Thanks

Kasper,

The problem you are having with your filter pressure is a classic sign of an algae bloom, even if you can't see it yet.

Your filter clogs... you backwash it... and it works for a short period of time, but soon clogs again...

How are you adding chlorine to your pool??

What is your CYA level?

What FC level are you trying to maintain?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Sorry for the delay and thank you for responding. We had nasty storms here over the weekend and lots of rain so I was not able to get out and retest till this morning. Here are my current results:
FC 0.6
CC 0
PH 7.4
TA 90
CH 250
CYA 50

When I opened the pool 5 days ago the results were
FC 1.6
CC 0.2
PH 7.6
TA 90
CYA 10

I add the liquid chlorine directly into the pool in front of a return
