Fiberglass Pool Repairs

I have a fiberglass pool that is maybe 15 years old. I bought the house last year. I have some areas that look a bit rough. See photo of areas. Let me know thoughts on what needs to be done to repair. Drain pool and resurface that fiberglass? Is that possible?

The pool is not currently leaking. I have concerns about draining the pool from what I’ve generally been told about fiberglass pool draining. I will hire someone to do this. Just looking for advice and feedback. Thanks!

Hi, welcome to TFP! It looks like there may have been some fiberglass patch applied on the steps in the past. Usually with a fiberglass pool, resurfacing is done by applying a new gelcoat. @Texas Splash can you give more information?

Welcome! You are right to be concerned about an empty FG pool. It requires careful attention. See the thread linked below and go to Post #6 to see one example of how an expert in the field prepares their FG pools for resurfacing. Hope that helps.
