Earthworm infestation

So my pool must be over an ancient burial ground. Friday when I tested everything was fine. Saturday morning my pool floor was covered in earthworms and snails. My Polaris cleaner full of earthworms. Skimmer full of earthworms. And the skimmer on my pump full of worms I assume they went through the returns since I have a sock on the pool skimmer.

I spent a few hours cleaning them out. I did not vacuum them into the filter but I assume some made it in as pressure increased 2psi overnight ( I have a 60 sq ft Jandy DE filter that I use cellulose media in).

My combined chlorine also went from 0 to 1.5 overnight so I’m sure they introduced a whole world of bacteria into my pool.

I decided to slam at least for the weekend.

Should I do more?

What do you run your FC and CYA level at?

Did it rain Friday or Saturday morning?

How close are plantings and soil to the pool?
