Hi all, I’m contemplating replacing my current old sand filter with a Jaccuzi JCF425 cartridge filter. My pump and filter are in a pool shed so directly draining water out of the new filter’s bottom plug is out of the question. Can I safely mount some PVC to the drain plug opening, with an external valve to maintain operating pressure, and route the pipe out the shed wall for the occasional filter draining I’ll need to do with the new unit? Thanks much!!!

Yeah should work fine as long as you can match the proprietary threads and make sure it's water tight.
