Drain hot tub into pool

Hi all,

Is it possible to simply drain the spa into the pool using the AquaLogic controller? The dark tiled walls have some calcium and limestone deposits I'd like to clean off, and figure the easiest way would be to drain it. Dumping the water into the pool would save me from having to waste 4-500 gallons refilling it if I simply dumped the water out.

Mine you can drain into the pool until there is almost no water on top of the main drains. We have an auto spa valve when the switch on the side is in the up position will turn off the returns to the spa.

The question here is if you are just moving the problem from one hand to the other, this can be particularly true in your region where fill water is often high in calcium to begin with and it just gets concentrated through evaporation in pools and hot tubs.

Thanks for the replies. Hard water is definitely an issue here. I'd like to get the stains cleaned (which have obviously been neglected over the years), and then I'll stay on top of cleaning it regularly.
