DPD powder

My Chlorine Only cylinder is stained with many black spots from using the DPD powder. I have tried washing the cylinder with very minimal results. It is getting to the point that I can barely see the markings of the cylinder.
Why is this happening and what can I do short of buying a new one (I just bought one at the end of last year )? Thanks!

I think I remember reading somewhere that you can clean it with bleach. But I might be mistaken.

I've successfully cleaned mine with bleach. Just did it tonight actually for the first time this season. You only need a little bit 1-2 ml, use a paper towel to gently clean the inside and then rinse very well.

I use rubbing alcohol. Works instantly! I keep some with my pool test supplies now.
