Do I still need sand? Is my pool level enough. Or do I need to get it closer

From post to post that looks like everything is within a half an inch. This is a photo of the highest stone and a photo of the lowest Stone. Everything else is in between. Should I work on it to get a closer. This is a 21-ft Aurora. I just want to make sure it's done the right way.

Building a 21ft Aurora

Stones are flush and set with the raw earth within a 1/2" level . Very compact and flat and levels My plans are to lay a tarp over the ground ( cut out for the stones so it's in direct contact with the support legs ) then lay 3/4" xps foam inside the pool walls with the foam cove over the xps.

With that being said. Do I still need sand somewhere? I don't need it to smooth or level. I just want to make sure I do this right. Thank you.
