Diverting dirty DE powder and water to another direction

Hi. I have a Hayward Perflex EC65 filter. The way it is installed the filter drain is pretty close to the fence and is pointed in the direction of my neighbor's yard. When I clean the filter the dirty DE powder and water is going into my neighbor's yard. They are not very happy about this needless to say. Is there any way I can divert this dirty water? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Easy. You should be able to glue or screw something into the drain valve. A hose barb and then a backwash hose, or an elbow and some PVC pipe. It just depends on your layout.

Here's one way.

From googling, it looks like the valve is threaded. So

Did you just let the end flop around, or did you try to hold it and play fireman?
