Deck Jets with existing pool deck

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone has installed deck jets outside the concrete pool decking? If so, how far away from the pool are your jets? My concrete is 6' wide on the narrowest side. I would be happy with the jets only going into the pool a few feet instead of landing in the center but not sure if thats possible. Figured I would ask and see what others have done.

This picture shows deck jets going around 10’ out from the jet. It’s being supplied by a VS pump at around 1200 rpm and supplying the floor bubblers also. At a higher rpm they can end up in the neighbors yard. What type pump is supplying yours?

my thoughts are to install a jandy valve at my equipment pad to allow the amount of pressure I desire. I only have a 1hp single speed pump running 3450 rpm. It is currently supplying 3 returns into the pool.
