Hello, we opened our inground pool 2 days ago to a green swamp. SLAMMING it now. Green is gone but water is milky from dead algae. Is it advantageous to run the variable speed pump at highest speed until pool clears? Or, am i wasting electricity?
Thank u in advance,
John Thompson

Filter, back flush, filter, back flush, repeat until it clears. During the initial stage, higher speed will filter faster. As the water begins to clear slower filters better. If algae is settled vacuum to waste before you start (if you have the ability). At the end,to get rid of that last little bit, when it’s almost, but not quie clear, you can add just a bit of DE to help a sand filter clear it.
