sandstone rock ?

What kind of coating is there to put on my waterfall rock? This sandstone spreads pieces of sand into the pool...would be nice to coat it with something?
 
Well, it does look like pitting to me and not calcium scaling. Pitting is typically from very, very low pH over an extended period of time. What is your pH now? Do you have a current full set of test results?
 
I dont have a current set of results but i know for a fact this was previous damage and not anything I have done.....The previous owner let the pool go and when i bought the house it was a mess...green,nasty etc....so I am sure they were not using the right chemical balance...

what is weird to me is the pitting is worse sometimes than other times...right now its fine and not real noticeable..other times its real bad and very noticeable

is there anyway to reverse damage?
