Hello, I have a new Century STS1152R motor and upon first energize the capacitor in the wiring compartment ruptured. I suspect it shipped with incorrect capacitor. I have no response from dealer and can't find a parts list. Can anyone tell me what the correct capacitor size is for the capacitor in the wiring compartment? Thanks

Is this the motor?

It has a run capacitor on top and maybe a start capacitor for low speed.

Can you show the wiring compartment and the capacitor?

If it is a start capacitor, it probably did not get disconnected fast enough from the centrifugal switch.

Can you show the motor label?

Motor Design: Capacitor-Start/Run.

The top hump should be a run capacitor.

It might be a dual run capacitor.

If the start capacitor exploded, I would estimate that the cause is as follows:
90% wired incorrectly.
9% bad centrifugal switch.
1% all other causes.

It is highly unlikely that the wrong capacitor came in a brand new motor.

Even if it was the wrong capacitor, it would not explode.

A start capacitor can only be energized for a few seconds before it explodes.
