I have a copper fountain/spitter in the deeper end of my pool. The statue turns a greenish blue when pool water splashes onto it. I understand this to be normal oxidation for copper, however I wonder if this greenish/blue hue may be affecting my water color and/or creating some type of algae. I keep the chlorine level at the high end of the recommendation based on my cyanuric acid level. Still, I'm finding repeat episodes of what appears to be dead algae on pool floor even though my combined chlorine with drop test reads zero?

If the pool is clear, 0 CC's, and passes the OCLT then the dead algae is just normal sanitation and the chlorine doing its job killing what gets into the pool.
