You've made the right choice coming here. We've had are IG for almost 16 years and thought I knew what I was doing before I came here. As you can see I'm a newbie also. The reason for asking if someone maintains your pool is as you can see (and my personal experience agrees) that the folks around here have no faith in pool stores or their testing and chances are a pool store would not be receptive to your input on how your pool should treated.
The science here(and all of our own pools prove) works completely. My best advice would be forget the pool store testing and trust yourself with testing. It gets easier with time. Read all you can around here and always remember, these folks will guide you when lost. There always here and ready to help. Kinda like the 911 of pools
