Cloudy water

Hi - I'm helping a friend who follows pool advice - they are willing to try BBB to get their cloudy water in check. I tested for them and here are their numbers:

FC = 5
CC = 1
PH = < 7.0 (PROB 6.9 OR 6.8)
CYA = 70
TA = 180

I am going to advise him to bring up ph and then bring FC to shock level - correct??? Thanks!

Get PH up to 7.2. Target for 70 CYA is 28. Might want to drain to lower CYA. And it's TFPC.

Aerate to bring pH up. With that high of TA you do not need to add any chemicals to raise the pH. In fact, over time, they will need to add acid fairly regularly due to the high TA. I suppose they have use Trichlor and have not had to add acid in the past due to that.
