cloudy and green but chemical are balanced!!

Hi everyone! Well got the sump pump out and was ready to dump 20k gals but decided to buy some chlorine which was on sale. So far have put in 22 gallons and CYA is 60 maybe 70 (running out of R0013). Pool looks almost blue now but still cloudy. Unable to do chlorine test because after I add R0870 the sample water becomes deep red. I stopped putting R0871 when I reached 100 and still red. So I don't know my Chlorine level!

CH is 425
TA is 165 and sample is yellow

Suggestions?

If you didn't drain water, your CYA is still what it was to start with.

There are only two ways you can remove CYA from your pool, a water exchange or a reserve osmosis treatment. Your diluted CYA test identified a level of 120 so that is still there.

If you put 22 gallons of bleach in at one time you raised your FC by about 45, more than double the shock level.

If you want to SLAM your pool with your CYA this high you can skip the drain/refill. It will just take a lot of bleach added over a long period of time - not all at once.
