Cl level after shock

Two days ago, I shocked my pool. I had to raise the FC level to 12 ppm in accordance with the measured value of CYA.
Today, the FC level was still at 9ppm. CC level is 0.5.

I have read that the FC level should be in the range 3 - 5 ppm for safe swimming.

How do I reduce the FC level quickly so I can continue to swim in the few summer days left in my locality?

What is your CYA level?

We use the FC/CYA Levels as FC requirements change with CYA level. FC up to the SLAM FC level for your CYA level is safe to swim in.

As the fall sky changes the sun's directions on the pool you may very well see chlorine last longer. Its still safe to swim in as long as its no more than your SLAM process level.

Maddie: Excellent point about the sunlight. Add to this the fact that tree branches overhang the pool and further prevent direct sunlight from reaching it.

A free chlorine of 9ppm is not unsafe for swimming.
