Chlorine Issues

It was an electronic test with a computer printout. I attached the results. What do you think? The black dot test had me around 50... but maybe I wasn't doing it correctly b/c it is tricky.

My FC fell 3 ppm overnight from 29 ppm to 26 ppm. I went back up to 29 ppm before leaving for work at 8. When I got home I fell down to 12 ppm (with rain today)... What should I do next? I'm leaning toward replacing some water, but want some advice.

Don't trust the pool store results over your own (assuming you have a good test kit). Pool store results can be all over the place. If you have any doubts about the test try it again after reading the extended directions. I don't see any point in replacing water just on the basis of a pool store result that disagrees with your own testing with a better test kit.

If you are losing chlorine overnight, you need to continue at shock level.
