Ok did that. A bought 16 gallons of 12.5 liquid chlorine. Just added 7. I checked my pool light and it's bolted in. So I cleaned around as best I could. Will continue testing and maintaining the level
Ill check again. I hope I'm right on the 7 gallons of 64 oz 12.5% chlorine. Looked at pool math again now it says 6 gallons or 13 64oz jugs. I'm getting nuts now
With 36k volume, you should see 824oz of 12.5% bleach required. Which is 6.5 gallons or 6.8 121oz jugs (which is silly because 12.5% does not come in 121oz jugs ... only 8.25% does).
SLAM says at least twice a day and no more than every hour I think. Try in an hour. As the FC sticks around longer, you go go longer between testing and adjusting.
Your water is clear right? You may want to go ahead with the OCLT right away as well. May not take long if the pool is pretty clean already.
I would keep it elevated today and do the OCLT tonight ... and hopefully the higher FC for a day will take care of anything in the water and you will pass right away.
Ok. I brought pool up to slam level ( 24)
This afternoon. Took my OCLT reading at 8:30 pm and it is 8.5. I'm dreading tomorrow morning. Could 16 ppms be gone already? It was a very sunny hot day today. Pool is crystal clear tonight
That is a pretty big drop. I thought you were going to test and maintain it at 24 all day? Can you raise it back up and test it again in 30-60 minutes?
