Check Valve needed vs. Heater Bypass (Versaflow)?

I am about to purchase a Jandy JXI400n with Versaflow and a Serviceable Zinc Anode to use with my installed pool equipment. The system uses a salt/chlorination generator. The installer suggests that the Anode negates the need for a check valve to be installed after the heater. Any thoughts about a check valve and/or an Anode to be installed in this setup?
