We were getting a check cell message and given the age of the salt cell (about 4 yrs old) we purchased a new one, installed it, but are still getting "Check Cell" .
Jandy TruClear Pro Series
30k gallon pool
water temp is mid-upper 60s
Free and total chlorine are low
Salt reading is 3440 (ideal range for our pool is 3000-4000 ppm)

Possible bad circuit board?

The Jandy Troubleshooting Guide has two answers to the display "CHECK CELL",
1) Reason: Cell Overload. -Description: When the system is running within a valid chlorination window and detects a cell short circuit or overload. Designed to warn the user or service person. Output is OFF.

2) Reason: Cell Open Circuit. -Description:
When the system is running within a valid
chlorination window and detects a cell open circuit or disconnection. Designed to warn the user or service person. Output is off but retries each 30seconds.

Check the circuit board front and back for any obvious problems.

Check the voltage and current going to the cell.

The red and black are the power wires where you can check volts and amps.

The red and black go to the Cell Terminals.

The blue wire goes to the Gas Trap Terminal.

Note that there are 2 ribbon cables from the circuit board to the front display panel and you need to be super careful when removing the front panel so that you do not pull the ribbon cables loose.

You have about 4 inches of slack and that is all.

It is either an open circuit or an overload.

If you have a new cell, then the circuit board is likely to be bad.
