With high fc, the TA test goes to yellow instead of red. The test is still valid. Based on your 12.5 ml sample, your TA is about 500 ppm.

Pool stores seem to love to fuss about alkalinity. That's all I hear about when my SIL comes home from getting her water tested.

So confusing!! So now my TA is way too high? What do I need to adjust and in what order and how?
If i follow correctly it was always high, the pool shop did not catch it. Honestly having worked in pool shops they should have thrown up a red flag a long time ago with how much buffer they have asked you to put in!
Given your CYA is high as well you may want to consider first dumping some water as a short cut towards getting back in balance.
