Hi - we have waterfalls and a fountain so PH gets a little high sometimes and I have a few quarter size calcium spots. Best way to clean on peebletec floor? CH was low too but since corrected- all other numbers ok

Thx

can you post a few pics, w a qtr or something next to spots..

Calcium is removed w acids, like Muratic acid, but just not on stones like travertine, granite bc it will etch it. What stones are in your pebbletec?

[USE ALL THE RIGHT TYPE OF PPE AND DO THIS OUTSIDE ON A NON-ETCING SURFACE] - [ALSO, MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO (SM) KIDS OR DOGS OR ANYTHING AROUND THAT COULD HIT OR DISTURB YOU IN YOUR OUTSIDE WORK AREA]

with a small fan blowing the fumes downwind, away from any metals, You could pour some muratic acid [very small amt] into a small glass, get a 100ML plastic syringe [of course w no needle], then suck-up the muratic acid into the syringe. w the same goggles you have on doing this, and wire brush, squirt the m-acid directly onto one of the spots...if could help to dissolve it or soften it up so you could use the wire brush to remove. You could even try the wire brush by itself - just depends on how long and how thick the CA deposits are.

If you are not comfortable w doing this, call your pool finishing company and see what they recommend. Acids are widely used to remove CA, you just need to make sure your surfaces are not acid-hating or would be etched w acid. Many pool finishing companies perform "no-drain-acid" washing into pebbletech pool to help better cure or eliminate discoloring and blemishes...this is the same thing, but more like target specific -

good luck, tstex
